This is an absolutely amazing set of CDV’s. George Custer signed. This is a famous pair. Last time it was out was in 2005 which they sold through an Cowans Auctions for $23,000. with an additional carte of his wife, Libbie Bacon Custer. Custer's portrait as a Brigadier General, with Brady's New York and Washington Galleries backmark, taken on October 8, 1863 (K-20), and boldly signed Truly Yours G.A. Custer. Libby's carte with the imprint of W. H. Bowlsby photographer, Monroe, Michigan.Both descended in the family of Custer's neighbors in Monroe. Penciled notes on the back of Libby's image indicate that the handwriting is that of Jessica Wood Cust, who knew her personally in Monroe and who Genl Custer taught mother to ride horseback nbsp;These can be easily found when searched for online. They are absolutely genuine and guaranteed. They are a tremendous pair and probably the best pair in existence br />
