This is an incredibly rare U.S. Civil War Union Infantry Irish Brigade Officer Forage Cap Hat Kepi. It is a unique collectible item for Militaria enthusiasts and fans of the Civil War era. The cap is an original period item and was worn by Irish Brigade officers during the war. A very rare cap with matching Infantry “I” Eagle buttons on the sides that are marked Waterbury on the reverse. The cap has the leather chin strap along with a leather sweat band on the inside.
